go on a trip为动词短语，意为“去旅行”，相当于have／take a trip。

go on意为“去做......”。

Will the students go on an outing?学生们将出游吗？

go on 还可表示“继续”，常用短语 go on doing sth.意为“继续做某事”。

I'm so tired that I can't go on learning.我如此累，以至于不能继续学习了。

Let’s have a rest.Then we go on walking.咱们休息一下，然后继续赶路。

go on to do表示“接着做某事”，即某事已做完，接着做另一件事；

After reading English, I went on to do maths exercises.

读了英语之后，我接着做数学练习。

north，名词，意为“北，北方”。

be＋方位词＋of 在......某个方向     强调某地／某物在另外一个特定区域外的某个方位。相当于“be to the＋ 方位词＋of”

Our school is north of the post office. = Our school is to the north of the post office.

我们的学校在邮局的北面。

Our school is south of the museum.我们学校在博物馆的南面。

Japan is east of China.日本位于中国以东。

be in the＋方位词＋of 在......（内部）某个方向 强调某地／某物在一个特定区域内的某个方位。

Nanjing is in the south-west of Jiangsu Province.南京在江苏省的西南部。

in the ＋方位词,意为“在......之内”，强调某地在某一特定区域内

on the 十方位词,意为“在......边”，强调某地在某一特定区域边上，且两地接壤

to the ＋方位词,意为“在......之外”，强调某地在某一特定区域外，且两地不接壤

north还可作形容词，意为“北部的；北方的”。

尤指短程往返的旅行。

a trip to...去······的旅行

take a trip＝go on a trip 去旅行

（2）辨析：trip与travel

两者都有“旅行”之意，但用法有别。

①trip多指短途的游玩或有特别目的的旅行。

They often have a school trip.他们经常进行学校旅行。

②travel指长途旅行。

space travel 太空旅行
